Just Off Broadway

Private eye Michael Shayne (Nolan) is on the jury in the murder trial when a witness who could clear the accused is killed by a knife hurled from within the courtroom. Shayne hides the knife and, overnight, traces the knife to the thrower, but that's only the beginning of the trail. Shayne's back in the court the next morning and he's got the scoop, although he's in the hot seat for skipping out on jury duty.
