The Singing Kid
Predictable and rather dull Jolson effort finds musical and radio star Al Jackson losing his voice and fortune. But he recovers both thanks to a Maine rest cure, finding landlady Ruth (Roberts) a romantic tonic. (Although it's charming young Sybil Jason as Ruth's niece who steals every scene.) Then Al returns to Broadway to get back on top.
