Wonder Bar

This Pre-Hays Code Jolson pic pushes the limits for suggestiveness with Busby Berkeley doing his usual extravagant choreography. Al Wonder (Jolson) is the owner of a Paris nightspot who's in love with dancer Inez (Del Rio). So's band singer Tommy (Powell) but Inez only has eyes for her gigolo partner Harry (Cortez). Harry's cheating with married socialite Liane (Francis) and there's a bunch more subplots about the customers and such. Jolson (in blackface) does the now-very dated (not to mention strange) song 'I'm Going to Heaven on a Mule' accompanied by a number of black children with all the angels black as well.
