Jewish WII survivor Rivka (Moreau) is quietly living in Paris in 1987 when her son Victor (Girardot) discovers an Aryan declaration among his late father's papers that was designed to protect the family from Nazi persecution. Since Rivka refuses to discuss the past, Victor and his family travel to the small French town where Rivka's parents sheltered before they were deported to Auschwitz. Increasingly agitated, Victor delves into his family's possibly anti-Semitic activities during the war. French with subtitles.
