The Republic of Love

Set in Toronto and based on the novel by Carol Shields. Late-night radio talk show host Tom had an unconventional upbringing that has led to his being impulsive about love and marriage (including three ex-wives). Academician Fay views her parents' 40-year marriage as perfect so she has impossibly high standards for her own relationships. When their lives finally intersect, there is instant attraction and a lot of unrealistic expectations.
