Under the Bombs
During a ceasefire in the 2006 Lebanon-Israel conflict, Christian taxi driver Tony agrees to drive Shiite Zeina into the still dangerous southern countryside. She is searching for her young son, who was staying with her sister in a small village while she and her soon-to-be-ex husband were in Dubai. The two discover nothing but the rubble of bombed-out towns and a frantic Zeina comes to depend on Tony's sympathy and care. Filmed on location in Lebanon during the actual ceasefire with the two leads the only professionals in the cast. Arabic with subtitles.
