The Sniper
Interesting time capsule of San Francisco in the early '50s as well as a psychological study of a mentally-ill killer. Miller (Franz) knows he's unstable so he seeks help for his compulsion to kill women. Treated with indifference by the medical community, he takes to a rooftop with a rifle and starts picking off women who've rejected him. Lt. Kafka (Menjou) is assigned the politically hot case and eventually gets a lead into the psychosis compelling Miller to kill.
