Would-be musical comedy star (and ex-waitress) Mabel O'Dare (Davies) and heavyweight boxer Larry Cain (Gable) are promoted as a couple to boost their careers although they can't stand each other. Of course that changes but when the duo decide to ditch their time in the limelight for marriage and regular jobs it causes consternation among their handlers. Davies, a little too mature for such naivety, did best with the comedic portion of her role while Gable is most notable for being mustache-less per director Bacon's insistence.
