Tyler Perry's Madea franchise continues, but this time Madea (Perry) offers up some laughs and then steps aside, allowing the real story to develop. Don't expect any surprises, though. In this installment, Madea finds three teens robbing her home, and after learning that their druggy mom is dead and grandma is missing, she sends them to live with hard-drinking, tough-living nightclub singer Aunt April. April's life and outlook are transformed with the help of church lady Miss Wilma (Knight) and a nightclub owner (Blige), who both belt out powerful vocal performances. It's never in doubt that April will embrace her lessons in caring and generosity, but fans of Perry will absolutely love the journey.
