The Informers
Hedonism in 1980s L.A. courtesy of a Bret Easton Ellis novel and screenplay. Movie honcho William (Thornton) is having an affair with newscaster Cheryl (Ryder) as wife Laura (Basinger) pops pills. Their son Graham (Foster) deals drugs and parties with his pretty friends. Working-class Jack (Renfro in his last role) gets disastrously involved in a kidnapping scheme orchestrated by his perverted surrogate father Peter (Rourke) and the shallowness just keeps getting more apparent. Disturbing, generally unlikeable characters and situations (especially those involving Rourke) make this a waste.
