First feature for director Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie, was filmed on the soundstages of England's Shepperton Studios. Sam Bell (Rockwell) is a lonely corporate astronaut completing a solo three-year stint on the Moon for a mining company. His only companion is the snarky voice of his robot Gerty (Spacey) and long-distance contact with his wife and daughter. Then Sam suddenly becomes ill and starts having hallucinations (or are they?) of a cloned Sam. Space Oddity indeed.
