In the near future, humans live isolated and safe in their homes while lookalike robotic surrogates manage their lives outside. After a series of murders, Agent Greer (Willis) discovers he'll actually have to leave his house for the first time in years if he expects to solve the crimes. His investigation leads him to an underground band of rebel humans, called The Dreads, revolting against the robotic surrogate world, lead by The Prophet (Rhames).
