A biological weapon makes its way into the water supply of a small town, causing the townsfolk to lose their minds in a violent rage and die. Sheriff Dutton (Olyphant) and crew must defend themselves from the crazed masses, while the government responds by shutting the town off from the rest of the world. A remake of the George Romero classic, the movie offers up great screams, thrills, and other key elements of the horror genre, but misses Romero's social satire and mistrust of authority that provided the original such unique tension.
