Man on Wire

On August 7, 1974, French aerialist Philippe Petit and his team entered the not-yet-completed World Trade Center and strung a high-wire between the two towers, which Petit proceeded to illegally cross. A documentary hybrid of actual and restaged footage shows Petit training for his walk (across the towers of Notre Dame and the Sydney Bridge) as well as the extensive preparations for the New York walk. Petit is a charming raconteur and his feat still astonishes; based on his memoir "To Reach the Clouds." (Director Marsh does not mention the 9/11 destruction of the World Trade Center.)
