Mary Magdalene Horowitz is a boring, clingy, delusional, cruciverbalist (crossword-puzzle designer) who after one blind date with cable news cameraman Steve (Cooper) misinterprets an innocent comment that leads her to relentlessly follow him across the country, egged on by a self-serving reporter, Hartman Hughes (Church). Amid the trek she befriends a variety of socially inept characters like herself that bring nothing but more uncomfortable irritation. Feature debut from director Traill falls seriously short of anything remotely funny, even with his notable cast, while writer Barker vies for the "most annoying character ever created" award. Even Bullock's charm and Cooper's hunky-ness can't spare this from being, in a five-letter word--"awful."
