A gently sentimental and romantic Hallmark Hall of Fame production. According to a tenet of Orthodox Judaism, a man should marry his brother's childless widow to carry on the brother's name. Secular cardiologist Jake Lever (Kaufman) was estranged from his rabbi brother but he still feels obligated to his pretty widow Leah (Ambrose). He impulsively agrees to a marriage of convenience and invites Leah to move to his home in D.C., which allows her to pursue her college dreams. But the changes from Brooklyn nearly overwhelm Leah and Jake is having trouble coping with his new situation as well. Goldstein adapted from her play.
