The Ugly Truth

This is NOT what adult women want. Shrewish prude Abby (Heigl) is a morning TV show producer with a long list of requirements for the perfect man, so it's no wonder she's still single. Then loutish ape Mike (Butler), a cable shock jock, is hired to improve ratings with his outrageously chauvinistic rants. He presumes to give Abby advice about man's typical caveman behavior, encouraging her into such ridiculously superficial changes as hair extensions, push-up bras, and vibrating panties. Since apparently Abby has absolutely no pride or dignity, she's easy to dismiss and the flick is all too predictable. A humiliating throwback (or throw-up) in more ways than one and an ugly, desperate example of what is passing for romantic comedy.
