Out at the Wedding

Alex Houston tells her Jewish, African-American fiance Dana that her family is dead because she believes they'll disapprove. Then she quietly heads home to South Carolina to be a bridesmaid in her sister Jeannie's wedding, taking along her gay best friend Jonathan. Jonathan mentions Dana to her family and they think Dana is a woman. Alex is so surprised by their supportive attitude that she lets the lie stand. But things spin out of control when Jeannie decides to come to New York to meet her sister's 'girlfriend.'
