Inspired by the 1941 horror classic starring Lon Chaney, this foggy homage shows what happens when family dysfunction gets hairy. Lawrence Talbot (Del Toro) returns to his family's estate to help his brother's fiance Gwen (Blunt) after said brother ends up gnawed and gnarly. Reunited with his estranged father (Hopkins), Lawrence learns that a bloodthirsty creature is feasting on the villagers. While strolling on the moors, Lawrence is also attacked but survives. Now a werewolf, Lawrence must deal with his bestial nature, a family secret, and Scotland Yard detective Aberline (Weaving). Fairly true to the spirit of the original, you will be rooting for the reluctant Wolfman by the end.

Whenever I've had a bad day at work, I relaxe by watching the Wolfman tear out people's throats and impaling them with his claws. A good, fun film with amazing make-up by Rick Baker.
