The humor certainly got lost somewhere in this loud, irritating rather than funny reimaging of the 1970s Sid and Marty Krofft children's TV series. Rick Marshall (Ferrell) is a disgraced paleontologist whose research involved parallel universes. He manages to find himself in a primeval world, accompanied by winsome Holly (Friel) and goofy tour guide Will (McBride). They encounter the ape-like Chaka (Taccone) as well as the lizard Sleestaks, a very thirsty (and large) mosquito, and a T-Rex that constantly torments Rick. Ferrell is game as usual but his shtick is tired.
