Spriggan

Based on the comic of the same name, and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo ("Akira"), it's "Raiders of the Lost Ark" on steroids. A super-secret group called Arkam is attempting to find Noah's Ark in order to protect humanity from its power, but a rival American organization wants to use it to rule the world. So the Americans send a team of superhuman assassins code-named Fatman and Little Boy (subtle!) to off the protagonist before he can find the Ark himself. Beautifully animated and lots of action, but the plot is muddled by trying to squeeze several years of comic storyline into an hour and a half.
