The Cave of the Silken Web
In the late 1960s the Shaw Brothers did a series of four films based on the Chinese epic fable "Journey to the West" about the Monkey King (also inspiration for the anime series "Dragon Ball"). In this third film in the series, the Seven Spider Sisters kidnap the Tang Monk as he journeys to India, intending to devour him to gain immortality. Working to save him are the Monkey King, Pig, and Sand. Unintentional comedy, martial arts choreography, and flamboyant costumed dance numbers abound.
