Orochi, the Eight Headed Dragon

Based on Japanese myth, with similarities to the old Ray Harryhausen films that were also loosely based on the same mythology. Prince Yamato is born under an evil sign. Saved from execution at birth by the intervention of the Bird of Heaven, his bad luck ends up killing his family before he is exiled. Eventually he learns he is destined to seek out the ultimate weapon and use it to put a stop to the destruction being caused by the evil god Tsukiyomi. The giant rubber monsters are okay, but beyond that the effects are pretty bad.
