Very loosely based on the courtroom spectacle following the leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity after her husband, a U.S. ambassador, publicly refuted President Bush's claim that Saddam Hussein was trying to buy uranium for nuclear weapons. Here, journalist Rachel (Beckinsale) leaks the classified CIA identity and is heavily prosecuted by the feds, represented in court by lawyer Patton Dubois (Dillon). Jailed for refusing to reveal her source, much like real-life New York Times reporter Judith Miller, her newspaper hires hotshot defense attorney Albert Burnside (Alda). Focused docudrama keeps to the cold, hard plot-points and excels with its veteran cast.
