City boy Billy is on the run from drug dealers after a deal goes bad, and he heads for his mother's farm in Virginia. Mom and son have some emotional baggage to sort out as a long-past family tragedy has kept them apart, but it's all quite uninteresting, convoluted, and remarkably impersonal. A family drama that combines forced, unmatched characters and manufactured, contrived drama with not one but two rookie directors. Spacek is the only positive aspect and script doesn't give her much to work with.
