When matriarch Junon is diagnosed with leukemia she uses the opportunity of the Christmas holiday to invite her bickering family home for a reunion in hopes one of them will be a match for a bone marrow transplant. Not exactly your typical warm and fuzzy American holiday fare; that's because it's French and is as dark as it sounds. Despite the premise, pic is buoyed by wit, humor (albeit dark) and excellent performances, namely from the legendary Deneuve. French with subtitles.
