On his hit action TV series, German Shepherd Bolt (voiced by Travolta) has superpowers to crush his arch enemy, Dr. Calico, and save his owner, Penny (voiced by Cyrus). However, having spent his entire life on the studio lot, he doesn't realize that he's just another canine actor, and not a superhero. A series of accidents leaves Bolt homeless on the streets of New York, while Penny is back in Hollywood. Convinced that the evil Dr. Calico has kidnapped his owner, Bolt, along with his two new friends, the reluctant alley cat Mittens and overeager hamster Rhino, sets out for a journey across the country to save the day. The first Disney animated feature to come out since Pixar guru John Lasseter traded teams. He wisely blends smart jokes with Disney's classic animated storytelling traditions, rather than trying to one-up his former employer's spastic cool factor.
