During a sweltering summer in an Arizona border town, Dona Genoveva (Gallardo), the 70-year-old matriarch of the Garcia family, buys a car and announces she's going to learn to drive, with gardener Don Pedro (Cervera Jr.) happy to offer lessons. Her middle-aged divorced daughter Lolita (Pena) breaks off an affair with a married man (Bauer) only to become interested in fellow butcher shop employee Jose (Najera). And Lolita's 17-year-old daughter Blanca (Ferrera) is discovering first love with Sal (Minaya), a boy with a bad reputation. English and Spanish with subtitles.
