Sex addict Victor Mancini (Rockwell) supplements his modest income as a historical re-enactor at a colonial village theme park by conning upscale restaurant patrons into believing he is choking and then preying on their sympathies and fat wallets, a scam that helps him keep his crazy mother Ida (Huston) in an expensive private mental hospital. His vacant life takes a turn when, in a rare lucid moment, his mother reveals his father's shocking identity, giving him cause to reflect on his pathetic, single-track life. Graphic sex scenes border on gratuitous, but Rockwell makes an otherwise detestable character somewhat sympathetic and likeable while pitching black dark comedy. Will either strongly offend or greatly entertain, depending on a tolerance of Oedipal complexes and kink as comedy. Based on the novel by "Fight Club" author Chuck Palahniuk, and directorial debut of Gregg, who also has a role.
