Two greedy and none-too-smart gym employees (Pitt, McDormand) attempt to sell a disk containing the memoirs of an ousted CIA agent (Malkovich) with unpleasant consequences. Swinton and Clooney, who are re-teamed after "Michael Clayton," play the agent's unhappy wife and her scheming lover. Swinton looks like she's still in that movie, while Clooney gets into Coen brothers mode effortlessly and is a highlight. Convoluted plot takes a back seat to excellent dialogue and pleasantly over the top characters. Pitt looks like he's having a blast with his dim-bulb workout junkie. Simmons and Jenkins shine in limited roles as bosses trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
