The title refers to the name of the tired sci-fi franchise and its last gasp sequel currently being filmed by ambitious director Angela LaSalle (Smith). She has some artistic pretensions that clash with Rex Anderson (Wise), the aging actor typecast in the lead role who's just after a paycheck. When their arguments lead to the plug getting pulled, the two decide to brazen it out and finish the shoot, using a predicted L.A. earthquake to cheaply film their special effects shots and as a publicity hook. A Troma release.
