Somewhere in the Night

Marine George Taylor (Hodiak) wakes up in a hospital with a reconstructed face and amnesia, and the only clues to his past are a Dear John letter and an L.A. address. This leads him to a letter of credit signed by someone named Larry Cravat, nightclub owner Mel Phillips (Conte), and songbird Christy Smith (Guild). Is Taylor actually Cravat, who's not only a murder suspect but involved in laundering Nazi cash? Detective Kendall (Nolan) is sure Taylor will figure things out. Noir with convoluted subplots and weak leads, especially debuting starlet Guild.
