If you're expecting a version of "Casanova," this isn't it. Instead, it's a dull rather than swaggering would-be romp with a couple of weak leads. In 14th-century Florence, penniless rogue Lorenzo (Christensen) is known for deflowering the local lovelies. His next likely conquest is Pampinea (Barton), who's also being pursued by a Russian count (Rhys) and an obsessed Italian nobleman (Roth), but of course the two youngsters actually love each other.
