Choreographer Busby Berkeley got an Oscar nomination for his dance direction in this glossy film with so-so musical numbers. Insurance agent Peek (Powell) is pressured into selling a million dollar policy to Broadway producer J.J. Hobart (Moore). When J.J. realizes his crooked partners (Perkins, Brown) lost the dough to put on their latest musical, he has a breakdown and Peek and his showgirl squeeze Norma (Blondell) come to the rescue.
