Ichi the Killer

Based on the comic of the same name, this film centers around Kakihara, a sadistic yakuza killer in Shinjuku. His boss Anjo has disappeared, so Kakihara kidnaps a rival boss to torture the information of Anjo's whereabouts from him. A hostess from a club later informs him that his boss is dead, slain by a mysterious superhuman killer known only as Ichi. Unable to find the pain he craves (Kakihara is also a masochist) that he used to get from his boss, Kakihara sets out to find the murderer in a quest to assuage his needs, and find out why Anjo was killed. Director Takashi Miike is known for over the top films, and Ichi is truly one of those.
