Taking off right after the end of the first film, Reiko and her son have gone into hiding after surviving their encounter with Sadako while the authorities try to explain the deaths. Unfortunately it seems Sadako's spirit has not been laid to rest, and Reiko's son appears to be developing psychic powers like his father. Reiko fears the ghost now has some connection to her son. Like the first film, "Ringu 2" relies on growing suspense as opposed to gore or shocks, but it doesn't do it nearly as well.
