In 2001, Tom Sterling (Hartnett) is riding the dot-com bubble as CEO of Landshark, a New York internet startup company whose services are actually created by his married brother Josh (Scott). The cracks begin to show, precipitating a cash-flow crisis Tom prefers to ignore. There's no particular urgency or surprise to the story and Tom is a hollow, unlikeable character blankly played by Hartnett.
