Watching the Detectives
Oddball romantic comedy that fails to deliver on the appeal of its leads. Movie geek/video store owner Neil (Murphy) is obsessed with film noir and he can spot a femme fatale when she walks into his joint. Violet (Liu) is big on spontaneity, but when they start dating, her penchant for increasingly dangerous practical jokes has Neil questioning her sanity. Bogie never had this kind of trouble with Bacall.
