Preteen Alice McKinley (Stoner) and her older brother Lester (Grabeel) struggle when their widowed dad Ben (Perry) decides to make a fresh start in St. Louis. Alice has a tough time adjusting to her new school and gets into trouble with her stern homeroom teacher Mrs. Plotkin (Marshall). But Alice learns two important lessons as adolescence hits: don't be judgmental and don't jump to conclusions. Adapted from Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's "Alice" novels.
