Frenchman Alfred (Demy) fell for American Alice (Phillips) while she was vacationing in Paris. So he impulsively flies to New York after her, only to be told to go away. Thinking he can win Grace back, Alfred decides to stick around and gets a job with a thug (Elliott) to tide him over, which turns out to be a problem. English and French with subtitles.
