Hollywood Cavalcade

This Technicolor Fox drama is basically the Hollywoodized story of director Mack Sennett and actress Mabel Normand. Silent screen director Michael Linnett Connors (Ameche) discovers Molly Adair (Faye) and offers her a sweet movie deal, making her a comic star in her first film opposite Buster Keaton (playing himself). Molly loves Connors but he's too wrapped up in his career to notice so she eventually marries co-star Nicky Hayden (Curtis). Connors notices that and fires them both. While their careers rise, Connors's goes on the skids until Molly offers him another chance. A number of Sennett's (who also appears) original silent stars have cameos.
