The Andromeda Strain

Creepy, updated, but over-extended adaptation of Michael Crichton's 1969 novel that was previously filmed for the big screen in 1971. An alien pathogen--code-named Andromeda--hitches a ride aboard a satellite that crashes near a small desert town in Utah. It either quickly kills the inhabitants or turns them into homicidal zombies. Dr. Jeremy Stone (Bratt) and his team are responsible for finding a cure but their efforts are hindered by government conspiracies as well as environmental activism and potential bioterrorism. Then a military snafu leads to an outbreak within the scientists' underground lab.
