Meet Dave

Teeny-tiny alien Commander Dave (Murphy) and his teeny-tiny alien crew land on Earth in their human-form spaceship, which happens to look just like Commander Dave. The crew is tasked with making Spaceship Dave move and act just like a human while Commander Dave and the crew (are you keeping all of this straight?) search for an orb that went off-course, landing in Manhattan. At first the aliens are snobs, but they eventually warm to the humans and make a few friends that help in their quest. Reminiscent of Will Ferrell in "Elf," the real laughs happen as Spaceship Dave wanders the city with the crew desperately pulling levers and pressing buttons, trying to figure out how to make Dave walk and smile and talk. The physical comedy is funny, but the rest of it falls predictably flat.
