Under the Same Moon

A heart-tugger that usually stays just this side of sentimentality. Young Carlitos (Alonso) lives in Mexico with his grandma while his mother Rosario (del Castillo) works illegally as a maid in L.A. Every Sunday she calls him from the same pay phone. When grandma dies, Carlitos decides to cross the border to reunite with his mom. He makes it to Texas but it's a problematic journey from there to California that may be for naught since the fed-up Rosario is deciding whether to return home. English and Spanish with subtitles.
