Andie (Evigan) is kicked out of her crew of street dancers when she's admitted to the prestigious Maryland School of the Arts. She responds by starting her own crew with classmate Chase and demands a chance to compete in a dance contest at a local club. Weak plot is undercut further by movie's fumbling of the race and class issues it raises with its fake-inspirational message, which seems to be, "We're all equal when we dance, especially the white kids who go to the nice high school."
