Down-and-out single mom Joleen (Theron) and her tween daughter Tara (Robb) are left homeless after Joleen's boyfriend is busted for drugs. The two drop in to visit Joleen's good-natured brother James (Stahl), but mom splits that night, leaving James stuck with the girl. Soon enough James loses his job and apartment, and Tara is taken away by Social Services. James then steals Tara back and they escape to the family farm house, still occupied by James and Joleen's villainous father (Hopper). A depressing, slow-moving indie flick, appropriately titled.
