Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!

Big-screen CG-animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic. Toning down his shtick considerably, Jim Carrey voices Horton, an enlightened elephant who discovers an entire planet on a speck of dust. Within this planet is the harmonious city of Who-ville, threatened to be crushed by imagination-hating tyranny. Its mayor (Carell), unaccustomed to dealing with crisis, turns to Horton to save it. A timeless, allegorical story that works for kids and adults alike. Its only fault is in trying to stretch a 10-minute bedtime story into an hour and a half, which leads to obvious interference with the original voice of Dr. Seuss.
