Nearly 40 years after Romero's ultra-low-budget "Night of the Living Dead," he's taking another stab at the genre with his fifth zombie flick. This modern incarnation starts with some college kids shooting a horror movie in the woods when their filming is interrupted by radio reports of zombies afoot. Camera rolling, the plucky students and their professor abandon the shoot to head for safer ground, but director Jason instead gets footage of his pals succumbing to zombification. Not too much new here, but the familiarity, nostalgia and gooey gore will make some die-hards happy. Pay attention to the spoofs of the original.
