Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins

Cultures clash and cliches abound when hotshot Hollywood talk-show host Roscoe Jenkins (Lawrence) returns home to small-town Georgia with his dim fiancee (Bryant) and young son for his parents' 50th wedding anniversary. His unimpressed family-including horndog sister Betty (Mo'Nique), studly brother Otis (Duncan), slick cousin Reggie (Epps), and nemesis Clyde (Cedric the Entertainer)--doesn't exactly roll out the red carpet. In no time, old rivalries make for put-downs, pot-shots, and sight gags that alternate between amusing and embarrassing, until a not-unexpected but somewhat ironic dose of schmaltz finally ends the tedium.
