Dan in Real Life

Gee, a romantic comedy that features age-appropriate adults who actually act like grown-ups! Who knew? Likeable (if baffled) widower Dan (Carell) is trying to raise three daughters and write his family advice newspaper column (of course none of his advice works for him). Dan's not even thinking about dating until he takes his brood to a family reunion and meets beautiful, friendly Marie (Binoche), who happens to be his younger bro Mitch's (Cook) new love. Dan tries to suppress his feelings, which results in a number of amusing moments for Carell that don't go over the top. Engaging if predictable.
